What's In A Name?

As an artist, there is nothing more I hate than presenting one of my pieces untitled.  I have no problem with other artist having untitled works and many famous artists have untitled pieces.  It just annoys me to have so much.

There are titles that came as I was working on the piece:

St. Someone

St. Someone

Titles figured out once it was done:

Inauguration Day (Finished on Inauguration Day 2017)

Inauguration Day
(Finished on Inauguration Day 2017)

Titles that were suggest by others, I took and used or altered:

Difference Of Opinion

Difference Of Opinion

Titles that are just spot on:

Father+Mother+Child

Father+Mother+Child

With that being said, I am constantly thinking of stuff and considering that it might be a good idea for a piece.  Most of them are obscure and I like it that way.  I like leave the viewer guessing.  It helps let the viewer see what they want to in the art.

Here are a few of the ideas I have, that haven’t yet been used and might not be but we shall see

We Aren’t French
Helix of Lies
They Came to See Something
Checkmate
F 11 tu 5

There will be more.

Maybe a LITTLE more often

I have not posted to my blog like I should.  Shame on me.

Reasons for not posting...
1)  I have no idea what to post.  (any suggestions post in the comments)
2)  Who cares?  (Is there really anyone that is reading this.)
3)  Inappropriate thoughts.  (Not like that!)
I have thoughts all the time about my life and what is going on with the world that has                   nothing to do with my art.
4)  I don't want to get hate mail.
I was going to post something recently about pour art and my opinion on it, but I know                  there are people out there (if they read it) that would come for me.

There are the 4 reasons I can think of for not posting to my blog.  I do have an idea for a future blog that will be a bit of advice for beginning and intermediate artists.  It is something I have struggled with multiple times and it is something all artist should hear or read.  (TEASER!   LOL)

Until then, just know that I am working on art almost everyday and sometimes it is nothing of any importance but it is something.  Practice makes perfect.

Enjoy your day and the beauty around you.

New idea for ART CHALLENGE

Hey All!

I have a habit of watching YouTube videos about art.  Some are good... Some...um.... eh... Not so much.  I have been thinking of doing my own YouTube video about art, life as an artist and whatnot.

There are four people that I watch the most.
1)  Draw with Jazza
2)  SuperRaeDizzle
3)  Chloe Rose Art
and most recently
4)  Rafi was Here Studio

All four are quite educational and entertaining.

I have seen Jazza, Rae and Chloe do art challenges.  I have come up with my own.  I will be trying this in the future.

Pick a Genre or Decade of music (I chose the 80s because that is when I grew up).  Make a playlist A-Z.  It can be the name of the band, the artist first name, last name or possible the song title.  One song per artist/band.  Create a piece of art from start to finish during that play list.

Here is my list so far...

A-ABC-(How to Be A) Millionaire
B-Book Of Love-Lullaby
C-Cyndi Lauper-Change of Heart
D-David Bowie-Magic Dance (Labyrinth Soundtrack)
E-Eurythmics-Sweet Dreams
F-Foreigner- Don't Stop Believing (Of course)
G-Gogos-Cool Jerk
H-Howard Jones-No One Is To Blame
I-INXS-Original Sin
J-Janet Jackson-Nasty
K-Kajagoogoo-Too Shy
M-Murray Head-One Night In Bangkok
N-Nena-99 Luftballons
O-OMD-If you Leave
P-Prince-Raspberry Beret
Q-Queen-Crazy Little Thing Called Love
R-R.E.M.-It's the End of the World as We Know It (And I Feel Fine)
S-Stevie Nicks- Stand Back
T-Til Tuesday-Will She Just Fall Down
U-U2-Sunday Bloody Sunday
V-Van Halen-Jump
W-Whitney Houston
X-XTC-Dear God
Y-Yello-Oh Yeah
Z-ZZ Top-Sharp Dressed Man

I didn't have the full list until I sat down to write this blog and then I could post it incomplete.

Anyone have an edit suggestions.  There are only a few I refuse to give up.  Til Tuesday and XTC being two if them.

Let me know what you think.

A new website!

So I have my new website up and running.  There will probably be several large changes to it to begin with, until I get it exactly like I want it.

I am extremely excited by the fact that I was able to get a website address that ends in .art!!!!!  I know it's silly to be excited by such a small thing but at this point it is a matter of taking the excitement where you can find it.  LOL

I have been working more on my social media.  I have posted more on Instagram and Facebook (links are at the bottom) and still trying to figure out what to do with Twitter.  And do I even want to deal with Tumblr?  Any other social media sites I should be concerned about?

I want to thank everyone who gives me feedback on my page here (please give me feedback) and everyone that supports my art and me.

You are awesome!
